A dramatic entertainment, in aid of the funds of Epiphany Church, was held yesterday evening at St. George's Hall, Newton, by the members of St. Matthew's Dramatic Club. The building was crowded. The entertainment was opened with Williams' comedietta, "The Little Sentinel," the characters being excellently sustained as follows :—Mr. \vheedleton Coaxer, Mr. McGowan ; Captain Courtington, Mr. J. F. Montague ; Tim Oakapple, Dr. Dawson ; Letty Hawthorne, Miss Dawson; May, Mrs. Dawson. At the termination of the interval, Mrs. Wright sang " Clarine," and ♦ "I Dreamt I Dwelt in Marble Halls," with charming taste, a portion of the latter song being repeated in response to an , encore. " When The Tide Comes In," was contributed by Miss Harris, and Mr. Stebbin was encored for his song " The Old Brigade." Merton's farce, "Slasher and Crasher," was acted by the following ladies, and gentlerqpn : — Mr. Benjamin Blowhard, Mr. Lachlan McGowan; Mr. Sampson Slasher, Dr. Dawson ; Mr. Christopher Crasher, Mr. J. F. Montague; Lieutenant Brown, Mr. R. Mason ; John, Mr. J. J. Woods; Miss Dinah Blowhard, Mrs. Dawson; Rosa, Miss Nearing. The farce was acted with great spirit, but there was little real fun in the piece, for the author, in compiling it, wrote a good deal that was entirely without point. The addition of a goodly sum to the funds of the church should result from the entertainment. The premature decay of beauty in many of our women, and the rapid advance of age, argue an unhealthy condition of the system or a palpable neglect of their sanitary statins. What is commonly "known among the sex as " ennui," is nothing more or less than lassitude resulting from some defective organism or special affection. It matters not how delicate the name, how sensitive the system, how cqnisitely strung the nerves, moderate doses of Udolpho Wolfe's Schiedam Aromatic Schnapps will eradicate the causes and produce the most beneficial results. ■ - • s » Baldness, grayness, and other imperfections of the hair will be regarded as inexcusable after a trial of Mrs. S.
