COMMERCIAL.

New Zealand Hkkald Officc, Saturday afternoon.

Messrs. Artiu'r and lU-diilk's keki.y Repout. —The week lias been a busy one in the produce ami fruit departments. A good supply of produce of most kinds, but little, if any, alteration in prices. Bacon and cheese have not moved oil so freely. But little fresh butter entered, for winch there was a demand, but there was not much demand for salt. Fruit has come to hand in very large quantity. The prices on Friday were an improvement on the former sales. Three sales have been held—on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday— of which were largely attended, and competition was brisk. Poultry were brought forward in fair number, and all brought satisfactory prices. Pigs were not in great demand. Those entered were not well bred, therefore prices ruled low. On Monday a sale of unredeemed pledges, from Mr J. Ilae, pawnbroker, Elliott-street, was held at the Mart. The attendance was large throughout: competition was smart; prices very satisfactory. There nave been two sales of furniture—Wednesday and Thursday—and the prices realised were not so good as they have been for some time past. On Thursday there was a sale of photographic lens, camera, &c.., also drapery Ac., at the Mart. A good business was done.
