[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, Thursday. The second day of the D.J.C. Autumn Meeting was well attended. The weather was fine, though a few drops of rain fell in the afternoon. The results were as follow •*—

Mr. Smith's Dunluce, 9st (Bishop) ... 1 Mr. Vallance's Mac, lOst 101b (Connor) 2 Mr. Butler's Secretary, 9st 131b (Kingan) 3 Garibaldi (list 81b), Trapper (lOst 41b), Mammoc (Bst 121b) also ran. Mac was the favourite. From a good start, Secretary and Mac went away with the lead, Trapper and Garibaldi being next. Passing the stand the second time, Garibaldi ranged up alongside the two leaders, with Trapper close up, and Mac and Dunluce beginning to improve their positions. At the mile and a-half Garibaldi ran into first place, but dropped away before reaching the bottom turn, at which juncture' Mac ran up on level terms with Secretary and Trapper, and looked all over a winner. Bishop had, however, been nursing Dunluco, ana had been gaining on the leaders during the last half-mile, and coming with a final rush at the bend wore Mac down, and won cleverly by a longth, Secretary third, six lengths off. Time, 4min Jsec. Dividends : Inside, £7 17s fid ; outside, £7.
City Stakes' Handicap of 150sovs, with a sweepstakes of ssovs; second horse, 20sovs; third, lOsovs; for two-year-olds. Five furlongs.

Chic was the favourite, Adulation being next in demand. The start was a bad one, Adulation being left at the post, with her head the wrong way, and her jockey therefore walked her back to the paddock. Chic and Wolverine were quickest away, and ran a ding-dong race to the last furlong, when Wolverine drew away, and looked like winning comfortably, but Ravenswing came up on the inside, and answering her rider's call, very gamely won a fine race by a head, Chic a good third. The colours of Gipsy King and Silvermark showed in the van, while Quibble and Snapshot brought up the rear, but the whole field were well together. By the time the stand was reached, and half-a-mile covered, Silvermark and Tetford were the leading files, a clear gap separating the pair from Gipsy King and Springston, who went on together side by side. Going round to the right, Gipsy King was steadied; and First Lord ran up into fourth place, and at the halfmile from home this lot took close order. Silvermark, however, maintained the lead right into the straight, where First Lord had shot his bolt, and the finish was left to Silvermark, Springston, and Gipsy King, the latter of whom was now making his effort. In a few strides whips were out to all three, and a grand finish ended in Gipsy King getting up on the inside, and winning a desperate race by a head from Silvermark, with Springston close up third, First Lord a good fourth, Artillery fifth.
