THE VICE-REGAL PARTY.
[BY TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Rotorua, Thursday. The vice-regal party are enjoying themselves immensely, the weather being beautiful. Miss Jervois expressed great pleasure and satisfaction from her visit to Tarawera mountain yesterday, as did the other members of her party, including several officers of tho fleet. Rather a stiff gale of wind blew as they crossed Lake Tarawera, which, however, ceased on their arrival ab the Moura landing, and for the rest of the day bright sunshine and perfect calmness prevailed, making the return home most enjoyable. They wero under the conduct of Mr. Alfred Warbrick. This morning His Excellency the Governor started for his favourite point of vantage at Whakarewarerra, to finish the sketch he was engaged on yesterday. Ho is a great admirer of this particular locality, and considers it the leading feature of the district. Miss Jervois and party started for the picturesquo island of Mokoia after lunch. It is her intention to take a sketch of Hinemoa's bath and its surroundings.
