A YOUNG LADY DROWNED IN A WELL.
A fatal accident by drowning is reported from Shell Harbour, New South Wales. From the particulars to hand it appears that a young lady, named Miss Carmody, has for the past four months been living with her brothers, Messrs. Carmody, saddlers, of Shell Harbour. The Messrs. Carmody went to the Albion Park Show, leaving their sister alone on the premises. They remained at Albion Park to assist with the entertainment, and returned between twelve and one next morning. Miss Carmody not being at home, it was supposed she had gone to spend the night with a neighbour. On going to the well in the morning, the unfortunate young lady's hat was seen floating on the water beside a bucket, with which she had apparently been trying to draw water. On searching for tho body they found it in the well. Miss Carmody, who was '21 years old, was a general favourite with the residents of the township.
