FRENCH DOMINION.
THE REV. MR. JONES PROTESTS
AGAINST EXPULSION.

Sydney, December 17. It has transpired that the Rev. J. J ones was removed from the Island of Mare by order of the Governor of New Caledonia on the ground that his actions were of such a nature as to compromise public order and the loyalty of the inhabitants of the islands. A similar order for his removal was given from France two years ago, but was neglected to be acted upon. The Rev. Mr. J ones professes ignorance of any action of his leading to his expulsion, and has protested through the Governor of this colony to the British Foreign Office, and claiming compensation from the French Government. '
