ECCLESIASTICAL.

At St. Paul's tonmorrow, services are announoed at 8 a.m., 11 a.m., and 7 p.m. The laßt of the course of sermons on " Advent Prophet#'' will be given in the evening by Rev. W. Boattj, M.A., Warden of St. John's College, his subject being "Johnthe Baptist." B&rnby's fine anthem, ''The Grace of God that bringeth Salvation," is noted for the evening service. The incumbent of St. Matthew'* la announced to preach to-morrow morning upon " A Strange Refusal,"and in the evening (6.30 p.m.) on " An Unknown Christ." Monikers of the ohoir are requested to note th*t there will be a short praotice of the Christmas music after the evening service. Anniversary services will be held at Devonport Congregational Church to-morrow. The Rev. K. Lalahley will preach at 11 o'olook, and at 6.30 the Rev. R. J. Roberts, when collections will be taken on behalf of the Church funds. On Tuesday at 6 o'clock there will be a tea, followed by a publio meeting. The usual servloes are noted for St. Thomas' Church, Union-street, to-morrow, the last Sunday in Advent. The hymn " Dies Irae," will be sung kneeling at the olose of the evening service. There is daily evensong at 7.30 during Advent. On Wednesday next, St. Thomas' Day, the feast of the Dedication of this Church will be kept. Holy Communion at 7 o'clock in the morning, and in the evening there will be % Flower service, when the Rev, E. J. Phillips (incumbent of St. Albann), will preach the sermon. The offerings of flowers will be oolleoted and sent to the Hospital. Hymn No. 395, " O Word of God Above," will be sung as a processional, and No. 242, "We Love the Place, O God," as a recessional hymn. All seats free. At Pitt-street Wesleyan Church, to-morrow evening, addresses in connection with the death of the widow of the late Rev. J. Hobbs, will be delivered by Revs. James Wallis, H. H. I/awry, and C. H. Garland. The services at the Epiphany Church tomorrow will be taken by the Rev. T. H. Sprott, M.A., In the morning, and the Rev. J. S. Hill in the evening. The ordinary service! will be held on Sunday at All Stints', Ponsonby Road. The incumbent will preach. The Rev. R. Sommerville will preach at St. Peter's to-morrow morning, and the evening service will be taken by the Rev, Charles Murray, a missionary lately from the New Hebrides. At the United Methodist Churches to-mor-row the Rev. S. Macfarlane will preaoh at Pittstreet in the evening, and at Mount Eden in the forenoon. At the latter plaoe a juvenile missionary meeting at which the Sunday School scholars will give recitations, and addresses will be delivered, will be held in the afternoon. A tea and farewell meeting to the Rev. S. M*cfarlaue will be held on Tuesday next. The subjects of tho sermons announced to be delivered at the Ponsonby Baptist Church on Sunday are: " The Eye of the Soul" and " Christ at the Door." "The Jewish Tabernacle," a symbolic and historio study, illustrated with models and diagrams, will be the subjsotof the leoiiure to be delivered to-morrow afternoon by this Rev. J. S. Hill, in the Lecture Hall of the Y.M-C.A. Pastor H. J. Lewis will preach on Sunday at the Newton Congregational Church upon "Severed Branohes" in the morning, and " The Bible" In the evening. The subject of the sermons to be delivered by Pastor J. Chaw, at the Beresford-street Church to-morrow, are—morning, " The Treasure Troveevening, " Stripping to It." Mr. G. Aidridge will lecture to-morrow evening, at the Opera House, upon " Christ's Teaching upon Hell." At the Tabernacle, on Sunday, Rev. T. Spurgeon will occupy the pulpit at both services, taking as the snbjcot of his discourses, " Berachah, or the Vale of Blessing," and " How can man be just before God I" At Alexandra-street Rev. W. Woollasa will preach at eleven o'clock a sermon entitled "An Interesting study." In the afternoon a fruit and floral service will be held, at which Rev. J, D. Gilmore will give an appropriate address, while Rev. A. J. Smith will preach in the even* subjeot, " An earnest woman." Rev. Rainsford Bavin is announoed to preach at both services at the Grafton Road Wesleyan Church to-morrow, while Revs. C. H. Garland and H. Bull will occupy the pulpit at Ponsonby in the morning and evening respectively. At Franklin Road Churoh to-morrow both services will be taken by Rev. C. E. Ward, who will aUp preach at Richmond Road in the after* noon.
