New Zealand Herald Office, J Friday evening. The Customs duties to-day amounted to £1358 13s sd.
Mr. Alfred jjitckland's Weeklv Report,— At Remuara on Thursday, dairy cattle were at late values. Store cattle were In moderate number only, and better inquiry. Fat cattle at the opening of the sale were at last week's values, but rallied as the tale proceeded folly 6s each. Prices ranged from lie the 1001b for middling cows to 17s for well-fatted oxon. Fat calve* scarcely maintained previous values. Store rhesp were in fair inquiry, and f*t sheep better worth about Is each. Lambs also, although plentiful, sold better than last week. Pigs were plentiful, but of good quality, and sold freely. Dtosdin Grain and Flour Markets, Week indiko Dec. 14, 1887: Robert Anderson, grain merchant and miller, reports Market firm. Wheat; Best pearl or velvet, 3s lOd per bushel; Tuscan, 3s lOd; Hunter's white, 3i 8d; fowl wheat, 3s to 3s 6d. Oats I Stocks of best oats very light, and prices firm. Heavy milling, is lid per bushel; prime short feed, Is lOd; medium short feed, Is 9d. Uarley : Malting, 4s per bushel; milling 3s; feed, 2s 6d. Flour, superfine patent. £9 10s per ton ; oatmeal, twenty-fives, £8 10s; bran, £3; sharps, £1; all f.o.b. and sacks included. —Francis A. Twiname, agent for Auckland.
