O'BRIEN IMPRISONED. SCENE IN COURT. DILLON EJECTED FOR DISRESPECT. ANOTHER MEMBER SUMMONED. [REUTERS TELEGRAM. J London, October 31. The appeal of William O'Brien against the verdict of the Mitchelstown Court in September last, will be heard to-day at Middleton, County Cork. A strong force ef military and police has been sent there to enforce order. London, October 31. The hearing of the appeal case of O'Brien was brought to a conclusion this afternoon, a full Court confirming the sentence of three months' imprisonment passed upon him by the Mitchelstown Court. Upon judgment beiug delivered, O'Brien strongly resisted the attempt of the authorities to arrest him. A scene of great uproar, with a great amount of scuffling, took place within the Courthouse. The prisoner was ultimately taken into custody, and at once removed to Cork gaol. London, October 31. Luke Patrick Hayden, member of Parliament for South Leinster, has been convicted and sentenced to two months' imprisonment, with hard labour, on a charge of inciting, tenants to disorder at evictions in Ireland. I PRESS ASSOCIATION.] London, October 31. O'Brien tried to leave the Court pending the issue of the warrant of committal. O'Brien, Dillon, and Lane, M.P.'s were roughly handled. The Recorder ordered Dillon's removal for disrespect. J. It. Cox, the Nationalist member of Parliament for East Clare, has been summoned under the Crimes Act for attending meetings which were proclaimed by the Government. O'Brien, speaking at Kainturk, declared that 30,000 tenants had given in their adhesion to the plan of campaign.
