The barque Kebecc* goes from Newcastle to San Diego with a cargo of coal. The Norwegian brigantine Farvel left Newcastle for this port on the 25ih alt. with a cargo of coal. The barque Loch Naw from Mercury Bay and the brig Vision from the Kaipaia both reached Sydney on the 25th ult., after passage* of 28 and 27 days respectively. The barque Annie Catherine left; Kimberiey (or a New Zealand pert on the 12th ult. The brigantine Lady Mabel, from Whanga« roa, on the 25th ultimo, reached Sydney on the 16th ultimo. The barque Diamond, from Hokisnga on the 26th September, also arrived at Sydney the same day as the Lady Mabel. H.M. b. Undine left Noumea on the 2nd ultimo for the Loyalty Islands, and H.M. a. Swinger for the New Hebrides. The barque Kentish Lass, which left the Kaipara on the 7th October, reached Sydney on the 23rd of the same month. . % The brigantine Parnell left Melbourne for the Eaipara. on the 23rd ultimo. The Shipping Gazette of September 16 says : The tonnage loading on the berth at London for India, China, and the Cape of Good Hope amounts to 28,690 tons, and for Australia and New Zealand to 43,500 tone. Outward freights to the East are strong, with an upward tendency. Homeward rates continue very dull, and few orders in the market from Bombay, Madras Coast, Kice ports, or Calcutta, Black Sea freights continue strong. The steamship Charles Howard, of Sunderland, at present lying in Tyne Dock, has been adapted for carrying oil in bulk, and also fitted for burning oil aa fuel. She is bound to Bat on and the crew have signed articles at the South Shields .Shipping Office. No firemen were engaged. The Charles Howard, it may be stated, is a uteamer o:t B*4 tone net re/iiter.

The Government steamer Stella left the harbour early yesterday morning for the North, in continuation of her lighthouse duties. The British Wreck Oommiuioners , official inquiry into the clroumstances attending the lose of the P. and O. Oompany'e Australian steamship, the Tasmania, off the coast of Corsica (say* the Australasian and South Amerioan of September 15). has terminated in the suspension of the second officer's certificate for two years. The Nelson had gone to Melbourne to allow Admiral Fairfax and his officers to witness the Melbourne raoiag omrnival, of which the Cap race ran yesterday proves always the centre piece. The sohooner Mimiba is to start running in t, few days between Russell and this port in the interests of her new owner, Mr. D. McGregor. The sohoonor will be under the charge of Captain TJrquhart. The s.e. Walrarapa, for, Sydney, via Russell, took her departure last evening with cargo, mails, and passengers. The b.s. Australia, bound for East Coast ports and Wellington, took her departure last evening:. Yesterday, with the assistance of two barges, an endeavour was made to raise the sunken cutter Lily. It is believed that by this afternoon she will be removed well out of the fairway,
