MR. SOLOMON'S "SAMSON."
The lines given below, on Mr, Solomon J. Solomon'® picture in this year's Academy, called forth from the artist the following letter :—
Dear Madam, —I do not know whom most to congratulate, you or myself — you for having composed such powerful verses, or myself for having done a work which inspired them. At any rate, I feel proud to have attempted something which proved in your hands the subject of such a fine poem. Believe me, dear madam, yours sincerely, Solomon J. Solomon.
