The new crank shaft now being made _at Masefield and Oo.'s foundry for tbo s.s. Oreti is not yet finished. .It was expected to be out of the lathe yesterday evening and fixed in its place, S3 that the steamer named could leave on her Northern trip to-day and though the turners are working night and day, Mr. Mase« field states that it will take until midnight to fiqjih. _ Mr. Waller is consequently reluctantly compelled to again postpone her departure until Monday, when,, weather permitting, she will positively leave. The Union Co.'s b.s. Wanaka, 277 tons, Captain Grant, arrived on Thursday morning. Shci left Lytcelton at 9 p.m. on the 26th, and Arrived at Wellington at 3 p.m. on the 27th; nailed for Taranaki at '6 p.m., aud arrived at 11.30 a.m. on tho 28th ; left for Manukau at 4 45 p.m., 'crossed the bar tt .5.45 a.m. on the s!9th, arriving as above. Experienced fresh N. W. winds, with haavy seas, throughout. . She left for the South again at 5 o'olook yesterday livening, with cargo and passengers.
