TE WHITI FORBIDS FOUK TO THE MAORIS.
[by telegraph.—own correspondent. J Wellington, Saturday. The natives assembled at the recent meeting at Parihaka presented Te Whiti with 2000 head of cattle. What will be do with them all? The pigs that remained in his settlement after the recent slaughter of those animals have been destroyed. Pork lias become unclean by fiat of the Maori Prophet. No more pigs are to be bred or reared in Pariheka. To Whitl may be the largest runholder m the colony.
