ECCLESIASTICAL.

At St, Paul's, to-morrow, the preacher In the morning is the Incumbent, on the subject of "Nain, the Beautiful." In the evening, Rev. E. H. Gulliver will address the congregation on & topic which is, of course, engaging universal attention, "Pro Patria : a word on the impending elections." Holy communion will* be administered at 8 a.m., and holy baptism at 4 p.m. The anthem at evensong is Olarken Whitfield's familiar composition, " Behold, How Good and Joyful." The Rev. William Tebbs, by request of the Committee of the Young Men's Christian Association, has kindly consented to deliver a sermon to young men, on Sunday (to-morrow) evening, la St. Matthew's Church, at 6.30. Subject, " Eirth Revisited, or the Raising of the Widow's Son." Members of the Y.M.U.A. and young men are invited to be present. On Sunday next the Bishop of Auckland will hold an ordination service In St. Mary's, Parnell, at II o'clock. The usual parochial service will he held at 10 a.m., taking the place of the morning children's service. At the ordination service the common use in all cathedral churches will be followed, the litany being sung to the beautiful chant of Tallis, instead of being read. The sermon will be preached by the Bishop. The anniversary services of the Otahahu Wesleyan Church are to be conduoted tomorrow. The Rev. T. Spurgeon preaches at 11, and the Rev. R. Bavin, at 6.30. On Tuesday next the annual soiree is to bo held in the Public Hall, when an interesting progamme will be submitted. The Rev, R. B*vin will preside. Addresses will be delivered by the Revs. J. Chew, A. J, Smith, and J. Macky, and by Adjutant Loverock, of the Salvation Army. An efficient choir will render musical selections, and the Maori students from the Three Kings will attend and take part. Tea will be provided at 6 o'clock. A special service of the Lay Readers' Association will be held in St. Sepulchre's Church on Thursday, September 29, at 7.30 p.m. The preacher for the evening will be the Rev, C. M. Nelson.

Professor Ohainey will lecture in the Lornestreet Hall on Suuday evening next. Subject: "The Irtffl*l Man and Woman." After the lecture, Mrs. Chainey will give psychometrioal readings of oharacter. The Rev. C. H. Garland will preach at Pitfcitreet Wesley an Church to-morrow evening, and in the morning at Ponsonby. The Jttev. H. K. Dawsbury is announced for Grafton Road, and the Rev. H. Bull for the evening service at Poasonby. At Sc. Peter'* Church. Surrey Hills, the Rev. R. Sommerville will deliver a sermon upon " Israel Emigrating to Egypt." Pastor H. J. Lewi*, of Newton Congregational Church, will preach in the morning upon " In« fant Baptism," and iu the evening the Rev. H. W. J. Millar, of Onehuaga, will conduct the services.

To-morrow there will be two discourses upon "The Millenium," one at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Mackelvie-street, by Mr. A. G. Daniells ; and the other at the Opera House by Mr. George Aldridge. The Rev. J. S. Hill's lecture to young men on Sunday afternoon will be upon " Some Social Problems."

The services at the Ponsonby Baptist Church will betaken to-morrow by the Rev. T. G. Carr and the Rev. J. D. Gilmore, at 11 and 6.30 respectively. At Mount Eden, at the morning service in the United Methodist Churoh, the Rev. S. Macfarlane will deliver a sermon, entitled " Whiter than Suo'-r."

Miss Malcolm, the Evangelist, will conduct farewell services at Alexandra-street Primitive

Methodist Church to-morrow, taking as the subject; of her sermons, "The Christian Armour " and "Lost and Found."

At Franklin Road Primitive Methodist Church, the Rev.' O. E. Ward will deliver a discourse upon Miry Mtgdalene," in the morning, while his subject in the evening will be " The Brilliant Failure." A baptismal and young people's service will be held at Beresford-street Congregational Church to-morrow morning, the Her. J. Chew preaching. The Rev. H. R. Dewsbury will take the evening service. The preachers announced for the day at the Auckland Tabernacle are the Rev. B. _ Bavin in the morning and Pastor Spurgeon in the evening. The subjects of Dr. O'Callaghan's sermons at the Epiphany Ohurch, on Sunday, are " Intercourse with Christ" and " Holy Offerings." The usual Sunday services will be conducted to-morrow at All Saints' Church, Ponsonby, and the incumbent will preach on " Beggarly elements" in the morning, and on " Nehemiah" in the evening. The anniversary services of the Devonporfc • Wesleyan Churoh will be held on Sunday, when sermons will bo preached by the Revs. J. A. Taylor, J. Chew, and H. B. Dewsbury, The soiree and public meeting will be held on Tuesday evening, when addresses will be given by the Revs. Dewsbury, Bull, and Lewis, and Mr. S. Woods.

The usual Sunday services will be held ia the Cook-street Mission Hall to-morrow, the subjects of discourse being " Jephtha" and ■' Jezebel." / Speoial services in connection with the anni< versary of the Mount Eden Congregational Sunday School will be held to-morrow. The Kev. T. Bray will preach in the morning on " Sowing and Reaping;" the Rev. C. H. Garland will address' the school children in the afternoon. At half-past six the Rev. H. J. Lewis will deliver a sermon on " Christian Nurture." The scholars' annual tea mooting and entertainment will be held on Wednesday, 28th instant.
