Writing on July 28, the St. Petersburg correspondent of the London Times supplies feme additional information respecting the new Afghan frontier. He says :— "I have ju»t seen a map of the new KussoAfghan frontier as settled by the AngloPuusian Commission, in St. Petersburg. A glance at it shows that one or two inaccuracies have crept into the accounts given of the arrangement made botween Sir West Kirigeway ami M. Zinovieff. The lower part of the south-western frontier, it will be remembered, ran from a point west of the Kuuhk by Chaman-i-Baid north eastwards to » point on the Murghab below Maruciiak The Russian boundary posts alieady standing slona this line of the frontier between the Kusbk and Murghab will now have to be moved forward in pursuance of the new arrangement, not nine miles in a direct line Bearer to Herat, as at first stated, but about 18 mileß, giving the Russians a corre•ponding advance in the direction of the so called 'key of India.' The new frontier ill thus mii from a place called Chahil Dot-tar, on the Kushk, northeastwards 4 long the hills bordering Badghiz, across the fi'er Kash at a point called iur Shekh, on to a place called Karaoul Khan, at the junction of. the small river Kaisor with the The area of this valley pasture land now ceded to Russia and restored to her Saryk Turcomans is 1830 squara Jurats, or 1220 square miles. At first the British Government proposed to give liuasia OQ )y about twenty square verats at this Poiut. In return the Ameer receives about GO square versta, or 40 square miles, at Khoja Saleh aud Cham-i-Ab. Bosaga is to "e ft Russian, and not, as erroneously stated, * n Afghan post. This is, of course, the Russian account of the transaction, and a 8 ance at the latest maps, with the above Particulars in hand, will give a fair idea of Hie new frontier."
