A CANADIAN THREAT.
[PRESS association.] London, August 22. Sir John McDonald, Premier of Canada, threatens to apply for a force of British regulars, to prevent the completion of the railway connection between the Manitoba railway and the American railway system. BRITISH TROOPS FOR MANITOBA. London, August 24. Sir John Macdonald, Premier of Canada, states that a strong British garrison will shortly be stationed at Winnipeg, the capital of Manitoba.
