THE VICTORIAN TARIFF. Melbourne, August 23. In the Legislative Assembly tonight the tariff proposals of the Government were amended on the motion of the Treasurer. The duties on sugar and produce of cane were reduced from 3s 6d to 3s per cwt, and on sugar refined in Victoria, from 2s 6d to 2s.
