A MOTHER AND CHILD KILLED.
A telegram from RocLhampton reports that a fearful accident occurred on August 13, on the Gladstone-road, at a place seventeen miles from the town. The wife of a seleotor named Mann was with a child, aged six years, dr:ving to town in a epringcart. Goiug up an incline the horse, becoming exhauste ?, backed the vehicle and precipitated it over a bauk a considerable depth with the woman and child. The horse was seriously injured. The woman and child were killed, and their bodies lay there hours before they were noticed. An examination showed no marks of violence on either of the bodies, bat it was evident that severe internal injnriea had been received. The bodieo were brought here and buried to-day. Mr. Mann is neatly frantic.
