WELLINGTON ITEMS.

[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] m Wellington, Tuesday. With regard to the *' History of the Maori," the Native Minister informed me to-day that there were parts of the book which will need revision, and until such revision takes place the work ie withdrawn from circulation, and cannot be purchased. There is a good deal of curiosity awakened as to the nature of those parts that need revision. Several copies had reached the library, but these were withdrawn from the table, and docked until the determination of the Library Committee in regard to them shall be known. I understand that plans are being prepared for the construction of the Cavier Island lighthouse, which is to be an iron tower.
