MANGAWAI.
The monthly meeting of the Temperance Association of the Church of England was held in the Sunday-school on Friday evening, August 5, the Rev. C. A. Tobin in the chair. The following programme was successfully gone through :—"Supplication"(piece), Mies A. Scrivener; "Oh! Bβ Not the First" (reoitation), Miss Boldero ; "Wait Till the Clouds Roll By" (sonft), Mr. Lilly; " Where are the Reapers" (chorus), Mr. James and company; "Take this Message to My Mother" (song), Miss North; song, Mr. Bernstein; "Kiss Me, Mother Ere I Die" (song), Mr. Worker; "Jerusalem the Golden" (solo), Miss Sturch; " Fare Thee Well" (song), Mr, McPherson; "Died of Fever in Bengal" (reading), Mr. Bernstein; "Gut on the Ocean" (song), Miee Boldero; "True Till Death" (song), Mr. Worker; " The Pretty Churoh Around the Corner" (long), Miss A. Scrivener; "Climbing the U olden Stairs" (song), Mr. Lilly ; "The Old Wooden Rocker" (song), Miss Boldero; " The Butterfly and the Wine Cup" (recitation). Mi«s Sturch ; " Work Away" (chorus), Mr. James and family; " Oh, Papa, Don't Go Out To-night" (song), Miss Sorivener; "Balaclava" (song), Mr. Bernstein. The accompaniments were played by Mrs. S. Mooney, the Misses Ryan, and the Misses Scrivener. The Doxology having been sung, the proceedings closed. A very pleasant evening's entertainment was very nicely gone through, and much appreciated by the audience. Much credit is dua to the hon. secretary, Mr. Roose, in getting up the programme.—[Own Correspondent.]
