OBJECTIONS TO THE ANGLICAN SERVICE.
TO THK KDITOR. Sir,—"A Member of the Church of Eng* land " has a good deal of reason for his objection to the portion of Rom. i. beiug read, to which be refers. It was written, of course, to the members of a particular church, situated in a city where the offence was of common occurrence. No Buch state of things exists now, and a general warning on such a subjeot is unnecessary. There are certain expressions aud even verses in the lessons which, by common consent, are omitted as indelicate and offensive; why should not this passage be placed in the same category? Your correspondent may be Interested to know that, at the church I attended, the passage was not read, the reader stopping at verse 25, which forms a fitting end to a leaaon.—l am, etc. Another Churchman.
