The naval squadron under the command of Admiral Freemantle, which, after capturing Falmouth sailed in the direction of Dover, succeeded in eluding the defending squadron under Admiral Hewitt, and captured the entrances to the Thames and Med way. An engagement took place yesterday evening between the two squadrons in the Downs, during which two Nordenfeldfc guns being used on board the Curlew and Black Prince burst, and a number af seamen were injured.
