VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.
The Board of Inquiry,— The Board of Inquiry into the No. 3 Battalion business' resumed its sittings at the drill-shed yesterday morning. Captain-Commandant Loßoy (president), Major Hamlin, and Captain Morrison were present. The Board decided to hear the fresh evidence adduced by Lieutenant-Colonel Mahon in support of the charges against Captain McDonald, but which was objected to on Friday. Several witnesses were examined yesterday, and the case against Captain" McDonald was concluded. The Board will resume at noon to-day, when we understand the oharges against Lieutenant Jackson Palmer will be gone into. The Easter Encampment.—ln connection with making arrangements for the Te Awanautu Troop of Cavalry being present at the Lake Takapuna. Quartermaster Roche arrived from the Waikato yesterday evening. The Troop have been supplied with passes for 60 men, who come down by special train on Thursday afternoon, disembarking at Remuera. No. 2 Battalion.—-A parade of No. 2 Battalion took place in the Drill-shed last night, when there was a splendid tarn-out of ! all the companies, being the best muster that has been on parade for several months past. Lieut.-Colonel Diguan was in command, and there were also present Majors Isaacs and Clifton and Adjutant Skinner.. The approximate parade state was as follows :—Victoria Rifles, 35, under Captain Cooper, Lieutenants isomers and Lee ; City Guards, 45, under Captain Waddel, Lieutenants Dormer and -Shemilt; Hobson Rifles, 38, under Captain j Little, Lieutenants Dignan, and Nightingale; Queen's Own Rifles, 40, under Captain Keep, ' Lieutenants Barley and Mowbray ; Garrison Band, 20, under Bandmaster Morris. After the usual formations the officers were called together in the committee room, when Lieu•Colonel Dignan briefly detailed the arrangements made for the encampment, and the instructions to be carried out. "O" Battery of Artillery.—A parade of the "0 " Battery of Artillery is called for this evening at the Drill-Bhed. A meeting of the corps will be held after drill, when business of importance in regard to the Master encampment will be placed before the battery. Every member is expected to be present.
