[BY TELEGEAPH.—OWN (,'OERESPONEENTS.J Hamilton, Monday evening. Long service and good conduct medals have been awarded, and within the last few daye issued, to the following members of the police forqe in the Waikato distriot, namely, Sergeant Emerson, Te Aroha; Constables Brennan, Cambridge ; Jonathan Wild, Hamilton ; William Bullford, Raglan ; J. White, Ngaruawahia; and William Murray, Hamilton East.

The Clerk of the Waikato County Council has received a reply from the public auditor in answer to a question whether, as demanded, 10a per day expenaes for attendance can be allowed the Rangiriri Licensing; Commissioners. Mr. Durrieu states that no payment for attendance can be recognised. No fewer than sixteen intending contractors were present on the ground, on Saturday afternoon, to meet the committee appointed to carry out the forming of a new road to East Hamilton or Kirikiriroa oemetery, and have the work pointed out to them. ,

Cambridge, Monday evening. Mr.' A. GT. Hughes, t)n Sunday morning, turned a number of young oat-fish into the lake in tha Domain gronnd. He brought them with him from Auckland on Saturday, and by changing the water several times on the way, succeeded in keeping them in a healthy etate.
