SALE OF THE TWO-YEAR-OLD COLT NIAGARA.

The negotiations that have been in progress during the past • few days for the purchase of the two-year-old colt Niagara were, it is understood, brought to a conclusion yesterday by a sale being effected for the sum of 1750 guineas. The purchaser of the colt is understood to be the Hon. W. Pearson, of Victoria, and in securing the half brother to Trenton to oarry his colours it must be admitted that he has made a good selection. As with Trenton, we have again to credit our enterprising breeder, Mr. Thomas Morrin, with the rearing of Niagara, and, with that gentleman's usual foresight, the colt's name figures in most of the valuable three-year-old events of the Australian turf, among which of course are the V.R.C and A J.C. Derbies. It is understood that Niagara will be shipped to Sydney by next Tuesday's steamer.
