GARRETT BROS., Wakxfield-strket, And Gmam's Buildings, Hula kg ah ate Eoap, Auckland. THIS IS A GENUINE SALE, Millers. JOHN 1" j AM B, or THE AUCKLAND ROLLER MILLS AND BISCUIT MANUFACTORY fo 81-STB KIT, Takes the liberty of intimating to the puMlo that he has put on the market a PATENT PORRIDGE MEAL, Made from pare wheat, which is much cooler than oatmeal, and it will be Been from the analysis of Mr J. A. Pond, Colonial Analyst, which is annexed, that this is a most valuable food, and it is giving entire satisfaction. It can be obtained at most of the leading grocers in Auckland and Suburbs in seven pound bags and upwards, and brown brsad made from the meal from the leading bakers. In making the porridge, the water should be boiling before the meal is put In. Auckland, Feoruary 12,1837. J. Lamb, Esq., Auckland. Sir,— your request I obtained a sample of your Porridge Meal from yonr Mill on the Slat ult„ and hare examined it with the following results Analysis : Moisture M _ 13*85 Soluble Albuminoids .. .. „ I*lo ugar, Gum, and Dextrine*.. .. 515 Gluten .. — .. „ _ 70S Cellulose .. «. „ 2*58 Starch and Fat.. .. .. . 70 80 Ash „ „ _ -08 100 This sample was produced entirely from wheat, and these result! show the preparation of > valuable article of food, from which a large proportion of the br>n has been removed. The nitrogenous matter is present to a greater degree than it would be in flonr prepared from this wheat, while the retention of the germ in .the meal adds greatly to its value as a flesh-producer, owing to the large amount of albuminoids thus retained. The ash is heavier than In ordinary wheat flours, and as this Is chiefly composed of phosphates, which are very important as bone-forming materials, it will be seen how beneficial this food will prove to children. lam of opinion th»t this preparation will prore of g>eat value, but to ensure its easy asilmilation by the system it will require care in cooking, and will need at least thirty minutes at a boil* ing temperature to attain this result. I have &C-, J. A. POND, Colonial Analyst, StCßsx-itreet, Newton, February 23, 1887! Ms. Joiur Limb. Dear Sir,—Eleven years ago I was Injured, and have Qnt been able to take solid food since. I have tried many farinaceous foods, as well as Neave's Food ; hut a few weeks ago I purchased aqnantitr of your Patent Porridge Meal, and I found this to be superior to anything that I have hitherto used for indigestion, and I thank you for making this food. 1 am, sir, yours respectfully,WALTER THOM Engineer.
