AUCKLAND RUGBY UNION.

■ ♦ A special general meeting of the members of the Auckland Rugby Union was held in the club-room, Imperial Hotel, last night. There was a large attendance, Mr. Cotter being voted to the ohair. The business was to consider the report of the special committee upon the revision of the rules, and to adopt the same. Rules.The rules were gone through seriatim, and discussed at length. The principal alterations and amendments were as followßule 4 was made to read that the officers of the Union should be a president, vice-president, and a managing committee of five delegates, along with I secretary and treasurer, who should be ex [ officio members, and five to form a quorum ; also, that there be a match committee, consisting of three members of the Cup Committee, to select representative teams. Country clubs were defined to be those outaide a radius of ten milas of Auckland, and they should be admitted to the Union on payment of half a guinea per annum, but not to have representation by delegates.- Any playing olub in arrears with their subscription a month after the opening of the season to be liable to be struck off the Onion list. It was also resolved that on accounts being passed by the Managing Committee the same be paid by cheque, signed by one member of the committee, the secretary and treasurer. Another rule was amended, by debarring the secretary and treasurer from voting at meetings of the delegates unless they were delegates. Accounts.—ln reply to a question, the treasurer stated that the accounts had not yet been printed as ordered by the Union, because the committee's report was not yet in. Mr. Jordan said that the accounts should have been printed and circulated, so that the Union might digest the same. There had been ample time to have done so. The Treasurer replied that the accounts were all ready,for printing, bat the report not being to hand he had not circulated them. The matter then dropped. Playing Ground. —Mr. Crowe stated that the paddock known as Dilworth's, and used by the Union last season, would not be available during the coming season, as it was being ploughed up. It would therefore be neoessary for the Union to look around for another ground, The meeting then terminated.
