THE NEW FEVER WARD TO THE HOSPITAL.
IHK AUCWbmv* AAuapivm nuu wuninnuio AIU Board met on the Hospital grounds yesterday morning to consider the advisability of changing the site in deference to the views of a deputation that waited upon them the previous day. After inspecting the ground, it was found that to change the site to the north caitarn side of the institution would involve a wall of twenty feet, and consequent increase of expense for foundations. A motion was moved to change the site fa that proposed, but it was lost, and the site adjoining Park Road was unaltered. On returning to town, the Board opened the fourteen tenders received for the ereotion of the fever ward. They were as follows: — Newaome, £1472; G. Heron, £1509; Joseph Becroft, £1448 ; Alfred Flewson, £1448; William Hutchinson, £1370; Rose and Clark, £1492 ; Wrigley and Handcock, £1547 ; O. Khodes, £1627 ; E. O. Davis, £1597 ; J. Thompson, £1269 .1. Ellingham, £1812; J. T. Julian, £1567; J. W. James, £1463 ; Robt. Kay, £1576 ; Jones and Pollard, £1474 Leigh Bros., £1483. Mr. J. Thompson's tender being the lowest, was accepted.
