GROWN LANDS BOARD.
The usual meeting of the Crown Lands Board took place yesterday afternoon. Present: The Commissioner (Mr. D. A. Tole), Messrs. Moat and Pearce. Correspondence. —From Under-Secretary Crown Lands (1) directing attention to a notification in the Gazette of the 3rd inst. temporarily reserving land at Maunga'iawhiri for a gravel pit. (2) That the Governor hw fixed the upset price of lots 74 and 75, Te A.wamutu, at £30 per acre. (3) Directing attention to a proclamation in Gazette of 17th instant, setting apart land in Block 11, Wairere District, for perpetual leasing. From Under-Secretary of Native Department, re lot 181, Whangamarino native reserve. From Assistant Surveyor General (1) forwarding plan and description of lot 169, Waipareira, and recommending same to be set apart as a State forest. Agreed to. (2) Forwarding reports on land in parishes of Hahel, Whernuakite, and Waipareira, Parua survey district, and suburbs of Kiiwaka. Resolved to offer land for sale. From Albert Potter stating bis inability to pay up arrears on his deferred payment section at Omapere. Resolved to refer him to section 122 of the Land Act, 1855, whioh may possibly give him relief. From Mrs. Mary Pearson, stating that her husband had returned to his homestead which had lately been forfeited. No action was taken in the matter. Applications. James Atkin Connell, on behalf of Eliza Dudley, to be allowed to complete purchase on deterred payment selection at Kaipara. Referred to the Ranger for report Upon improvements.—For leave of absence by John McLeod from his homestead at Waipu. Granted two months.— By Cecil S. Vernon, for reduction of price in section 1, block 4, Whangaroa. Refused.— By B. Skelton, for Crown grant of land selected by him under military land ordety at Whakapirau. —Resolved previous t« issuing grant to make further inquiries,— Similar application for land at Kai&k* made by E. Elsmore, and granted.— By W. F. Buckland, for lease of Tikiani and Tatarariki blocks. Decided not advisable to accede to requests.—By G. W. Kendall, for Waitaha block to be offered for sale. Resolved to decline dealing with the application at present. — By C. B. Knorpp, for section in block 11, Te Aroha, to be offered for sale. Referred to AssistantSurveyor General as to manner in which to deal with the same. —By D. Cleary, on behalf of several, to have land at Puma offered on deferred payment. Referred to Village Steward.—By J. H. and VV. W. Anderson, for land near Hoteo River, to ba offerred on deferred payment.By Albert Potter, by Gladstone Harrison, ,f»r portion of homestead selection forfeited by John Anderson, at Okaihau. No objection to be re-advertised.— similar application from C. Maddox, for part of Macrae's forfeited selection in the same locality. No objection to be re-advertised.—By John Carron, for lot 92, township of Patutahi. To be offered for sale.—By W, Radcliffe, for land at Karaka. To be offered for sale after survey.By JosWeek, for lot 80, Koursiwhero. This section was granted some years ago by tfae Superintendent of Auckland for educational pur* poses. By W. Cooper, for lot 81, Aotea. To be offered for sale.— W. F. Buciland, for lots in section 2, Pukekohe. To be submitted for sale after Crown re-enters; land being derelict.—By W. Furness, for lots in the Parish of Waipipi. A similar decision in this case was also given.
