PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH SOIREE.
The annual soiree of the Mahurangi Heads Presbyterian Church took place on the 24th January in Captain Kasper's granary. Tables were provided by Mrs. Rasper and Mrs. Algie. After full justice had been done to the good things provided, and the tables cleared, a concert was held. The Rev. R< McKinney occupied the chair. The proceedings were opened by singing the hundredth psalm. The chairman said it was now a little over 30 years since he caine to Mahu* rangi, and spoke in the warmest terms of his people in this (Mahurangi Heads) part of his diocese. The following programme was gone through : —Piano selection, Miss Knsper; song, " Thy Voice is Near Mc," Miss Martha Queen;" song, "Belle Mahone,'' Mr. A. Short; song, " Let Me Dream Again." Miss Darrach ; Eong, "It was a Dream," Miss Knight; comic song, " The Howling Swell, Mr. A. Barnett; song, "The Broken pitcher, Miss S. Darrach; reading, "Mrs. Gaudies Curtain Lectures," Miss Queen ; duet, Misses Buchanan (2); piano solo, Miss AlcKeuzio; recitation, Mr. J. Dawson ; piano he.ectiou, Mi»s Howden ; song, " When Jack Comes Home Again," Mr. W. W. Hill; Miss McKinney ; song, "Never to Know, Miss Knight; piano solo, " Oberon," M'» Barnett; comic song, "Kill or Cure," Mr. A. Barnett. The proceeds of the concert were £9 17s CJ. The usual votes of thanks having bcenpassed, the meeting terminated with the National Anthem. — [Own Carres-, oadont.J
