BANKRUPTCY.

Jaggs and Moore.—A meeting of creditors* in this estate was held yesterday morning at the office of the Official Assignee. Mr. Law* son read the debtors' statements, the sche« dule of assets and liabilities. The tenders were then opened for the stock-in-trade, etc., and that of Mr. Moses (New Zealand Tweed Company) for £75 was accepted. Mr. Moore repeated his promise to pay the credi« tors in full, and said that as soon as the assignee was in a position to name the deficiency, he would hand over a draft on hid solicitors in London, who were authorised to realize securities. It was decided to invite tenders to take over the book debts of the estate. The following resolution was agreed to by the meeting:"That Mr. Moore's draft on his London solicitors for the balance sufficient to pay 20s in the £, be accepted. Mr. Moore's letter of instruction to be ap«] pended to draft." John Ross.— meeting of creditors in this estate was held yesterday afternoon at; the office of the Offioial Assignee. Mr, Lawson read the debtor's statement, whioh showed a deficiency of £30 IS* 4d. He bad been working a sawmill in the Waikato, butt it. had been wrecked by a flood. The debtor had also broken his leg, and been unable to work for eleven weeks. The bankrupt, hia brother, and others were examined at considerable length. The debtor stated that his house and furniture were the property of his wife, and the deeds were in her name. It was finally resolved that the meeting* should be adjourned in order to make fuller inquiries, and to examine Mrs. Rose, the debtor's wife, as regards her private property. It was also decided that the Offioial Assignee be requested to saw into saleable timber all the logs in Ross's estate at Mercer by contract; that Mr. Matthew Hunter be appointed supervisor in terms of the Act, and authorised to sell for cash at his discretion as to prices.

Ambrose Coad, bootmaker, Auckland, filed his petition in bankruptcy yesterday. _j
