ANNUAL CHURCH MEETINGS.

ST. LUKE'S, MOUNT ALBERT. The annual meeting of parishioners was held at tho parsonage on Thursday, January 27, the curate of the district (Rev. J. K. Davis) in the chair. In the report of the outgoing vestry mention was made of the presentation to the church by Mr. A. K. Taylor of three beautiful staiued-glass memorial windows, of the work of the Sunday-school, and the initiation of a Sunday-school building fund, and of the faithful services of the lay-readers of the parochial district (which includes St. Jude'a, Avondale), Messrs. W. C. Kensington and A. Morrison, junr., and of Mr. Chas. White, who until quite recently has assiduously performed the duties of organist and choirmaster. There had been a decrease of £3 Is 10d In the general offertory, and of 12s 6d iu the revenue from seat rent*. There was a deficiency shewn in the statement of accounts amounting to £38. Mr. A. K. Taylor offered to contribute £10 towards this Bum, provided that tho balance was raised. Sums of £5 each were promised in the room by Messrs. Beck, Uattrav, and Sellers. The contribution to the clergyman's stipend for the current year was fixed at £1,00. The Bum of £1 was voted towards the salary of the Sunday-school inspector. Mr. A. K. Taylor was appointed minister's warden, and Mr. Vi. Rattray was elected people's warden. The following gentlemen were elected vestrymen :—Messrs. Beck, Driver, Kensington, Sellers, Smith, Thornson, White, aud Wright. Mr. W. H. Martin was appointed auditor.

ST. JUDE'S, AVONDALE. The annual meeting of parishioners was held in the church on Monday evening, the Kev. J. K. Davis in the chair. The report spoke of the initiation since May last, of morning service every Sunday in addition to the afternoon service. The general offertory shows an increase of £3 19s lOd, and the seat rents have yielded £19 as against £10 10s in the previous year. Some discussion took place as to the beat way of meeting tho sinking fund, now to be paid on the debt of £300 on the Church Building Fund, in addition to the interest. The question of furnishing tho church seats with kneelingboards was referred to the Vestry with power to act. A sum of 10s was voted for the year towards tho salary of the Sundayschool Inspector. Votes of thanks were passed to the lay-readers (Messrs. Morrison and Kensington) and tho organists (Messrs. Haigh aud Matthews). Mr. J. Bollard was appointed minister's warden, and Mr. Howell was elected people's warden. The following gentlemen were elected Vestrymen :—Messrs. Althorpe, R. F. Bollard, Haigh, Hazard, E. Matthews, P. Morrison, Peck, aud Simpson. Mr. JB. Matthews, sen., was elected auditor.

ST. BRIDE'S CHURCH, MAUKU. At the annual meeting 28 members of the church wore present, the Rev. N. D. Boyes, the newly-appointed minister, presiding. The late minister, the Rev. Colin C. Cokayno Frith, was also present, and asked the same kind consideration for his successor as had been shown him, Mr. Hogwood, treasurer, brought forward hiss statement of accounts, whioh showed the total receipts for the year to be £58 8a 3d ; expenditure, £57 12s lid. Assets showed: — Auckland Savings Bank for parsonage preservation fund, £5; due rent parsonage, £7 10s. Liabilities, about £2 10s. The accounts were adopted. Mr. Crisps, superintendent of the Sunday-school, read the annual report of the school, and also an account of special offertories for tho year. The chairman asked Mr. Crispe to act as his churchwarden, as also to continue the lay services ho had been doing. Mr. Crispe consented. Mr. Joseph Walker was unanimously elected as the people's »vardeu, and the following were chosen as a committee :— Messrs. Page, Gregory, T. Crawford, Piggot, Hogwood, and Wily. Mr. iiogwood was elected treasurer, Mr. Crispe secretary, and Mr. Hill auditor. The meeting then discussed the question of re-seating the ohuroh, as it was considered that thepresent seats wore not in keeping with the present improved interior, they having been made of about six different patterns, and as there is about £15 iu the Savings Bank towards the object, it was resolved, on the motion of Mr. Crispe, sconded by Mr. Brown, " That the vestry take the matter into their serious consideration at their first meeting." Votes of thanks were passed to all tho church workers, and after singing a few hymns, the meeting terminated. —[Own Correspondent.]
