[BY TKLKGEAPH.—PKES3 ASSOCIATION.] Dunkdin, Wednesday. At the annual sitting of Convocation to-day, the Chairman (M. Foster) reported that since the meeting o! Convocation, held in Christchurch, May ISSS, the bachelors of 1884 and the masters of ISS6 had become eligible for membership. The following report from the committee on by-lawa and regulations was adopted :—" Your Committee appointed to consider the regulations and by Jaws ex Convocation beg to report that they have carefully considered the matters entrusted to them, and are of opinion that in view of proposed introduction into the Legislature of a bill affecting the existence of Convocation, it is inadvisable to make any changes until the position and status of Convocation have been settled." It was resolved that a committee be appointed to consider the matter of science degrees as remitted by the Senate, and to report on the same. It was resolved, '' That a committee be appointed to draw up a report on the draft Bill for the reconstruction of the University, and submit the same to Convocation." It was resolved, " That the Convocation are of opinion that the examination paper in the Latin set at the last matriculation was an unsuitable one, and recommended that the standards for passing this year be lowered to 25 or 20 per cent.
