MELBOURNE WOOL SALES. Melbourne, November 18. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency held their usual weekly sale this afternoon, submitting a catalogue of 5000 bales. The attendance was large and the bidding spirited. The rates were slightly easier for medium inferior wool. A parcel of greasy lamb's realised 12£ d (?), combing of the same clip fetching 12d. Washed fleece sold up to 15£ d, and scoured to 19£ d.
NEW SOUTH WALES POLITICS. Sydney, November 18. Petitions are being signed throughout the country, praying for the dissolution of Parliament.
THE LY-EE-MOON DISASTER. Sydney, November 18. It is understood that the prosecution of Oaptain Webber, in connection with the Ly-ee-Moon disaster, has been abandoned.
ANGLO-AUSTRALIAN CRICKET MATCH. Melbourne, November 18. The match commences to-morrow between the English Eleven and the eleven representing New South Wales. The local team is composed of McDonnell, Bannerman, Burton, Furnis, Gregory, Marr, Mather, Moses, Ogilvy, Turner, and Whiting.
THE NEW HEBRIDES. Melbourne, November 18. The latest news from the New Hebrides is that the French show no intention of leaving the island. The roads and bridges they have constructed present a permanent appearance.
INTENDED RETIREMENT OP MR. LALOR. Melbourne, November 18. Mr. Lalor, the Speaker of the Assembly, has announced his intention shortly of retiring into private life.
INTERCOLONIAL POSTAL SERVICE. Melbourne, November 18. The conference of the delegates from New South Wales, South Australia, and Victoria, to discuss the postal service between the three colonies and the United Kingdom, holds its first sitting to-morrow.
