On Wednesday evening the residents at the Palace Hotel, Rotorua, assembled and presented Mr. Joseph Mcßae with the gold cross given by the Christchuroh Caledonian Society, for his bravery during the great excitement consequent on the volcanic eruption at Tarawera in June last.
