RUSSELL. November 3.—The Clansman left at 5 o'olook. Passengers : Messrs. Bart, Hill, Oonnell, Grey, Abraham, Fountain, Hammond, Lecre, Mrs. Leore. LYTTELTON. November 4.—Arrived: Opawa, ship, 93 days from London ; all well. Dorio, a.s., from Dunedin; Dragon, from Hobart. Sailed: Oreti, s.s., and Mahinapua, s.s., for Wellington ; Rotorua, s.s., for Dunedin. PORT CHALMERS. — November 4.—The barquentlne Guiding Star and brig Prospero, reported yesterday, left Hobart together on 23rd Ootober. On the Ist inst. the Prospero encountered a heavy N. W. gale, attended by a high sea, which broke on board and carried away a portion of the bulwarks, smashed the longboat to atoms, started the companion hatch, and flooded the oabin. The gale moderated after 12 hours, and was followed by a strong S.W. wind, which continued till arrival. ARRIVAL OF THE TONGARIRO. After a rapid passage, the N.Z. Shipping Co.'o steamship Tongariro arrived off Dunedin early yesterday morning with mails, passengers, and cargo from London. After landing the two former for Southern ports the Tongariro left again last evening for this port, at which she is due about Sunday next. The steamship named has made a most rapid passage, she not being due at a New Zealand port until the 9th inst., Tuesday next. London was left on the 24th September last, and Plymouth the next day. The following is a list of passengers for Auckland :—Mrs. T. S. Shepherd, Misses Sinclair (2), Mr. O. and Mrs. J. Demoulin, Messrs. O. Brayshaw, R. H. Lucas, Williams, J. Taylor. Second Cabin : Mr., Mrs., and Miss Trummell, Mrs. Hoar-Trummell. Third Cabin: Mr. and Mrs. Cobb and fatally, Mr. and Mrs. Davis and family, Mr. and Mrs. Kirk, Mr. and Mrs. Watson and familv. Mr. and Mrs. Stevenson and child, Mr. and Mrs. Seadgrim, Mr. and Mrs. Pocklington and child, Miss Glavey, Mesdames Watson, Reynolds, Roberts, Messrs. Andrew, Barrett, Barton, Bowridge, Brookllng, Oampbell, Draper, Grioe, Griffiths Hart, Wilter, Toner, SleUht, Ryan, Robertson, Reynolds, Maokenzie, Jeffreys, MoGear, Morgan, Merrick. THE TUI. Wellington, Thursday.—The idea of raising the sunken steamer Tui has been abandoned, and the wreck will be sold. The following is a list of insurance* on the cargo of the s.s. Tui :— Equitable, £140; Colonial, £305; South British, £85; National, £64 ; Standard, £50; New Zealand, £60 : total, £705.
