Karangahakk Quartz Reduction .Wokks.—The following telegram was received yesterday, viz. :—" Started Pelton wheel and got up steam ; everything firstclass, only waiting ore. Signed, Edwin Hornsby. The mine manager reports that the country at the bottom is of a light blueish colour, and of a sandstone nature, and favourable for einking. Cambria.—The manager reports : The south crosscut at Mo. 4 level is now in a distance of 313 feet. The country that the drive has been going through this week has been tighter, and of a more hlocky sandstone, but of a kindly nature; 24 feet has been driven during the last six working days. riight loads have been crushed from the small leader at the intermediate level below No. 3 level in the.Cambria section of the mine, for the return of 72ozs of amalgam.
