REVOLT IN AFGHANISTAN.
RUSSIAN INTRIGUES. JREOTER'S TELEGRAMS.]
Calcutta, October 30. News has been received from Afghanistan than the tribes of the Ghilzais and the Lazarel, discontented at the excessive taxation recently levied in these provinces, have revolted at Ghuznee* where they attacked and dispersed an Afghan regiment which was escorting treasure to Gabul. A oable message in the Melbourne age says:—lt is announced that Russian spies have been discovered making an inspection of the Chitral Pass, about 120 miles northeast of Cabul, and which forms one of the easiest routes from the Oxai through the Hindoo Koosh mountains into Afghanistan.
