Irkutsk's TELEGRAM.] prorogation OF NEW SOUTH WALES PARLIAMENT. Sydney, October 16. A Cabinet Council, held yesterday, decided that Parliament should be prorogued next Thursday. DEFALCATIONS OF A BANK TELLER. Melbourne, October 16. It is rumoured heavy defalcations have occurred on the part of an official of one of the local banks. October 17. The rumour that defalcations have occurred on the part of an official in one of the banks is now confirmed. The defaulter is one of the tellers in the Bank of Australasia. The defalcations amount to £1000. ALARM ABOUT A STEAMER—ALL SAFE. Melbourne, October 16. Holden, Parken, and Co.'s steamship Wendouree, 3000 tons, which left Melbourne on the 12 th instant for Sydney has not since been heard of. She has 10 saloon passengers and 13 i» the forecastle. Fears are entertained for her safety. The owners of the Wendouree believe she has been disabled, and drifted, because she has not been reported along the coast since passing the steamship Cheviot. Steamers have been despatched in search of the missing vessel. A heavy gale was blowing along the coast during Tharsday and Friday. The Wendouree's crew numbered 35. Sydney, October 16. The steamship Wendouree arrived this evening from Melbourne, all safe. PAYMENT OF MEMBERS IN TASMANIA. Hobart, October 16. The Tasmanian Legislative Assembly has passed a Bill providing for payment of members. THE MUNICIPAL JUBILEE IN SYDNEY. Sydney, October 16.
