THE NEW BISHOP OF MELBOURNE.
[PRESS association.] London, October 2. The Rev. Field Flowers Goe, M.A., who has accepted the Bishopric of Melbourne, is a gentleman possessed of large private means, and is a very eloquent preacher. He is a very generous man, and has expended among the poor of his congregation the whole of his stipend. The curates of the district of St. George's Church, to which Mr. Goe was rector, are of opinion that he is highly pleased with the appointment.
