THE AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS.

[reutkr's telegram.] London, July 12. Thk Australian Cricketers commenced a match to-day at Sheffield, against an eleven of Yorkshire, oomposed as follows : —Hon. M. B. Hawke, Bates. Hmmett, Hall, Hunter, Lee, Peate, Peel, Ulyett, Preston, Wade. The weather was tine, and there was an enormous attendance. An excellent wicket was pitched, and the ground was in first-rate order. The visitors went first to the wickets, and their innings closed for a total of 275. The highest individual scorers were : Jones, bowled, 26 ; Trimble, bowled, 45; Palmer, runout, 94; Spofforth, 37, not out. When the stumps were drawn for the day, the home team had put together 42 without the loss of a wicket.
