An inquiry into the differences between the Hospital Trustees and the District Hospital Board is proceeding before Mr. Harry Kenrick, R.M., and Mr. Alex. Brodie, Commissioner for the Board, and Mr. William Carpenter, Commissioner for the trustees. The Thames County Council has resolved to make application to Government for votes for the undermentioned roads :—HikutaiaWhangamata, £500 ; Puriri-Hikutaia, £1690; Thames-Coromandel, £4460; Thames-Hiku-taia, £2000; Kauerauga - Tairua, £300. Goldfields roads: Mat*, £300; Waiomo, £730; Waiotahi, towards Mercury Bay, £300 ; Mangakirikiri, £150; Upper Tararu, £300; flape No. 1, £150; Hape No. 2, £600 ; and Tapu Creek, 150. The Thames County Council has determined to oppose the Gold Duty Abolition Bill unless provision is made for revenue in lieu of the gold duty. Cobomandiel, Thursday. All the publicans' licenses were granted to-day. There was no opposition. Cambridge, Thursday evening. Mrs. W. A, Cushney died here suddenly this' evening about six o'clock. The cause was convulsions. *
