BANKRUPTCY.
James Henry Taylor Bassets wa» examined before the Official Assignee yesterday. He stated :—I am a coach and housa painter by trade. I started business on my own account about eighteen months ago. At this time I believe I was free of debt, but I had no capital. The business succeeded very well for the first few months, but after that I made losses on several contracts througri taking the work too low, and I also made two tnd debts amounting to £50. This crippled me, and after trying for a few months longer to pull through, I decided to give up the business. I was on my own account for about twelve months, and all my liabilities were incurred during this period, and are solely due to the oausea above referred to. My book debts are not included in my sch< lule, as they are worthless. I have nothing nor any interest in anything, with the exception of a little furniture, whioh I value at £15. I am at present in the emploj ment of the Tramway Company at 8s per day, but having a wifand three children to support, I feel U£s£l to make any offer to my creditors.
