A STABBING CASE.

[by telegraph.— PßESS association.] Wellington, Monday. A MAN named James Mclntyro was stabbed at Paikakariki this afternoon by a man named Matthew Johnston. It appears that the latter had just gone up the country, and was suffering from the effects of drink, when a dispute arose, and he attacked Mclntyre with the sharp end of a candlestick used in tunnels, inflicting eight or nine wounds, but none, it is believed, very serious. Mclntyre was brought into the hospital, and Johnston to the lock-up.
