"HOME, SWEET HOME."

Hub what delights my soul is to hear a foreign concert; singer sing to a San Francisco audience that plaintive ballad, with tears 111 her voice, imported for the occasion. I laugh, because I look around the audience owl I see, a family, who live on Van Ness Avenue, with children born in San Francisco ; I see dainty ladies from Nob Hill and pretty girls from Hayes Valley, and thcy'vo all just left home to have a good time. They've been at home all day ; they're at homo tvery day, including Sunday, and they got more of home than ia comfortable. So they come out to a concert, and sonic soprano from abroad comes on the 3tcge and isiugs " Home, Sweat Home." Well, I've been at concerts where the song was sung very feelingly by artists who had ctrayed to San Francisco in hopes of making money and did not perhaps see their way very clearly to get back :>.;.;ain.
