A meeting is convened for next Monday evening, in order to decide its to the disposal of the balance at the credit of the defunct Parliamentary Union, and also to consider a scheme propounded by Dr. Murray Moore for handing over the funds to a projected society to be called " The Athenaeum Club." The idea is to obtain a room in the new Free Library, when finished, where the leading social and political questions of the day might be discussed, partly by means of a literary and debating society, and partly on the Parliamentary Union prinoiple. It is also suggested that the Mayor of the day should be president ex officio. Whether the project succeeds or not, Dr. Moore is entitled to credit for endeavouring to get the young men of the city to take an intelligent! interest in public questions. / On acoount of the convention to be held in Baptist Tabernacle, no evangelistic service will be held In the Young Hen's Rooms, this evening.
