BANKRUPTCY.
Mebtii.g of Creditors, A meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of Thomas Lauder, a carter, was held on Saturday at the Official Assignee's office. There were four creditors pree ,at, and in the absence of the Official Assignee Mr. Stephen' son was called to the chair. The statement of assets and liabilities showed that the latter were £192 |19s Id, and the assets only £25 12s 6d. There were four creditors secured to the extent of £508 4s 7d, and the estimated value of the securities was£49B. The assets consisted of book debts, £24 19a, estimated to produce £5 12s 6d, and the only remaining asset was furniture, valued at £15, and stock-in-trade, £5. Mr. Gray pointed out that as the furniture was exempt there was only £10 12s 6d in the estate for unsecured creditors. After a brief discussion it was agreed to adjourn the meeting until the 31st inst., to afford the debtor an opportunity to get an offer for the estate, and that the Official Assignee be requested not to realise in the meantime.
