SOUTH WARD ELECTION.
TO THE EDITOR. Sie, —For obvious reasons I have refraiaed from writing respecting to-day's election, but I think your readers will allow me to place oa record that Messrs. Goldie, Hill, and Knotfc promised me a transfer of the old Rob Roy Hotel license to its present site. Upon this assurance Ihave expended thousands of pounds in completing a building worthy of our grand city, and I feel confident that all impartial electors will, at to-day's polling, be guided by that love of fair play and justice which should characterise the treatment towards public-spirited men, who go in for catering for growing public requirements. I need only refer to Mr. David Goldie'a letter published in your issue of February 17 last, in confirmation of what I now write.—l am, &c, Samuel Jagqeb, Auckland, April 26.
