[REUTER'S TELEGRAMS.] HOLT'S DEFALCATIONS. Sydney, April 2. It is stated on the best authority that Holt's defalcations do not exceed £16,000. Melbourne, April 2. The Argus this morning publishes an authoritative denial of the rumours which have been current here to the effect that the defalcations of Holt, the Sydney manager of the Bank of New Zealand, amounted to between £100,000 and £200,000. PAYMENT TO MEMBERS. Sydney, April 2. The question of payment of members . came before the Legislative Assembly last night, when resolutions affirming the principle of such payment were carried by 42 votes to 19. NEW SOUTH WALES REVENUE. Sydney, April 2. The quarterly revenue returns published to-day show the total revenue to have amounted to £1,630,000, a decrease on the corresponding period in 18S5 of £9600. The Customs excise show an increase, while the land revenue has decreased. ■» THE ADELAIDE UNEMPLOYED, Adelaide, April 2. It is intended to hold a large mass meeting of the unemployed here tomorrow for the purpose of presenting a memorial to the Premier, the Hon. Mr. Downer, on the subject of finding work. Failing an interview with Mr. Downer, it is the intention of the demonstration to proceed to Government House to see His Excellency the Governor. ADELAIDE MARKETS. Adelaide, April 2. Shipping wheat is steady at 4s 4d to 4s 5d per bushel ; Adelaide town flour is £9 15s per ton; country ditto, £9. THE ANAU. Sydney, April 2. The Te Anau sailed for Auckland this afternoon.
