BANKRUPTCY.

Meeting or creditors. - Hibbkrd and Legge,—A meeting of creditors' in the bankrupt estate of Hibberd and Legge, patent atone manufacturers, was held at the Official Assignee's office yesterday. There were present: Messrs. Warburton, Kingham, and Steele. Mr. Buddie appeared for Mr. Warburton, and had a proxy from Porter and Co, The minutes of the resolutions carried at the last meeting were read. The Official Assignee said he had received no reply from Mr. Hibberd in regard to the application re the £50, but he had just now received a reply from Mr. Jowitt with respect to the request to deliver up ail goods received by him from Hibberd and Legge for the last three months, and he now handed them over to the Official Assignee. Be denied that when he received the goods that there was any act of bankruptcy on behalf of the debtors/ but being advised that there was such, he now handed them over to the Assignee. Mr. James Russell said that Mr. Hibberd left the letter with him, and he had overlooked the latter part in which he was asked to account for certain articles removed, but he would furnish the necessary, information. Mr. Steele said that the material supplied to Jowitt had been considerably damaged, and he thought that it would be better that Mr. Jowitt should pay the £150 instead of giving it up. The Assignee could not see how this could be required as he had complied with the request and given up the property. It was agreed to get Mr. ' Steele to make up an estimate of the cost of examination of the stone, cement, &c., and report to the Official Assignee to enable him to call for tenders for the material. The resolution was agreed to. The meeting then terminated, it being left to the Official Assignee to call another meeting if necessary.
